Detailed figures for the growth of the monetary aggregates in the German Federal republic are published in the statistical supplements to the monthly reports of the Deutsche Bundesbank. Targets for the growth of central bank money have been in operation since 1975. The following table shows how actual growth has compared with the target in each year since then:

Volume of central bank money (annual average of daily figures) (DM billion) Percentage Growth rate Target Growth rate Per cent.
1975 105.7 10.0* 8.0*
1976 115.4 9.2† 8.0†
1977 125.8 90† 8.0†
* In 1975 the target related to the growth of central bank money from end-December 1974 to end-December 1975, seasonally adjusted.
† The 1976 and 1977 targets related to the level of central bank money averaged over the year in question compared with the corresponding figure for the previous year.
