§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish a table showing (a) the average rate of inflation for the years 1970 to 1973, (b) the quarterly rates of inflation for the years 1974 to 1976, and (c) the monthly rates of inflation from January 1977 to the present, for the United States of America, Canada, Japan, France, the Federal Republic of Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, respectively.
§ Mr. GoldingPercentage changes in the consumer price indices are shown below (a) per annum—January to January (b) per quarter-January to April, April to July, July to October, October to January-and (c) per month as requested. Percentage changes taken over periods of a quarter and one month may not properly reflect the longer term trends.
