§ 37. Mr. Cowansasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether he will now use his powers in the Price Commission Act to require the display of prices of services.
§ Mr. MaclennanWe are currently consulting on the draft order requiring prices to be marked for food and drink and our immediate intention is to follow this with further orders relating to goods. Our programme will however include orders relating to certain services as soon as possible. Decisions on which sectors to cover first will have to be taken nearer the time, but restaurants and cafes, shoe repairs and hairdressing are among the sectors that we are considering.
