Notes: 1. A description of the changes between the present and previous series of trade figures was set out in an article published in Trade and Industry on 10th February. 2. The trade figures have been rebased onto 1975 in advance of the general timetable for the National Accounts rebasing exercise. This avoids having first to re-classify the figures onto the Standard International Trade Classification, Revision 2, which was introduced in January 1978, and then subsequently to rebase them on to 1975=100. 3.
