HC Deb 29 June 1978 vol 952 c683W
Mr. Beith

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how, and at what cost, fishermen can obtain gauges for measuring lobsters which are approved by his Department and correspond to those used by fisheries inspectors; and whether he will take steps to discourage the sale or distribution of gauges which are not so approved.

Mr. Bishop

Approved gauges may be obtained from any local office of the Ministry's district inspector of fisheries or local sea fisheries committee at the cost price of £4.50. I see no need to discourage the use or sale of other gauges which comply with the national minimum size.
