HC Deb 22 June 1978 vol 952 c320W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what has been the cost to public funds of the recent visit to Northern Ireland by the Leader of the Opposition and her spouse.

Mr. Mason

The cost to the Northern Ireland Office of the three-day visit of the Leader of the Opposition, her husband and party, including all travel, accommodation, official entertainment and protective measures, is estimated to be about £5,200.

The arrangements for all aspects of the visit had to take account of security considerations.
