§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why he is delaying his decision in regard to the proposed new byelaws stipulating a uniform speed limit, excluding water ski-ing areas, on the River Deben; and when this is likely to be forthcoming.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesConsultation between the Suffolk Coastal District Council and the Home Office on a draft of the proposed byelaws was completed last month. If the council makes the byelaws and submits them to me for confirmation, I will consider them in the light of any objections that I receive, and will give my decision as soon as possible.
