Figures for England and Wales of persons committed on bail for trial at the Crown court are published annually in the Criminal Statistics. No information is yet available for 1977. The total number of persons remanded by magistrates courts during proceedings relating to "standard list" offences—that is, indictable offences and some of the more serious non-indictable offences—and whose last remand was on bail are given in the following table:
