§ Mr. Montgomeryasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will give an estimate of the effect of a given 10 per cent. depreciation of the £ sterling on the level of all raw material prices, both imported and home produced, as reflected in the input prices index published by his Department.
§ Mr. CryerIt is estimated that the price index for matrials and fuel purchased by manufacturing industries would increase by about 6 per cent. as the direct result of a 10 per cent. depreciation in sterling.
