§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Attorney-General, whether he will make a statement on his decision to apply for a court order to enable a fresh inquest on the death of the late Liddle Towers.
§ The Attorney-GeneralI refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on 3rd May 1977 to my hon. Friend the Member for Chester-le-Street (Mr. Radice)—[Vol. 931, c. 115–16.] Following an application by the close relatives of the deceased for me to seek an order of the High Court quashing the inquest I reconsidered the matter and agreed to apply to the court accordingly. Having been granted leave, I expect my application to be heard shortly on a date not yet fixed.
