§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what would be the cost of increasing the death grant to (a) £60, (b) £100 and (c) the cost of an average funeral.
§ Mr. OrmeIt is estimated that the extra annual cost would be (a) £15 million; (b) £35 million; and (c), on the assumption that the average cost of a funeral is about £200, about £85 million, respectively.
