HC Deb 27 July 1978 vol 954 c846W
Q37. Mr. Warren

asked the Prime Minister if he will review and make a statement on the practice of Ministers of Her Majesty's Government refusing to answer parliamentary Questions on a wide variety of subjects of public interest and concern.

The Prime Minister

Ministers answer Parliamentary Questions only on those matters for which they have ministerial responsibility, and in accordance with the rules of the House governing the form and content of Questions. Ministers may refuse to answer Questions on matters within their ministerial responsibility if they consider it is not in the public interest to do so.
