Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the Official Report the value of industrial injury benefit for (a) a single person, (b) a married couple, and (c) a married couple with two and four children, for each year since 1948; and if he will express these data as a percentage of gross earnings and net earnings.

† Average gross earnings of male adult full-time manual workers in manufacturing and certain other non-manufacturing industries based on the Department of Employment's October inquiry.
‡ Gross earnings plus family allowance/child benefit—where appropriate—less tax and national insurance contributions.
§ Benefit rates used for 1969, 1975, 1976 and 1977 are those for November in each year.
