HC Deb 27 July 1978 vol 954 c872W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give, for the longest and most convenient period of time, the number of occasions when his Department has made prophecies or estimates of future trends on any matters where these have been altered or changed in any stated period within nine months of such estimates.

Mr. Denzil Davies

It would not be practicable, without undue expenditure of money and resources, to provide a comprehensive list of the kind that my hon. Friend seeks. In so far as the Question refers to economic forecasts, on four occasions in recent years—April 1976, December 1976, March 1977 and October 1977—forecasts of economic developments were published, and subsequently amended in the next published forecast.
