asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will ban the export of food animals to any countries within the EEC, such as Italy, that do not comply with the EEC directive on humane slaughter.

Mr. Strang

This is one of the factors that we shall be taking into account in reaching a decision about the future of the export trade in live animals.
