§ Mr. Charles Irvingasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is satisfied with the results of the pre-release courses held at Ashwell and Ranby prisons; if the courses are to continue in those prisons; and if they are to be extended to other prison department establishments.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesEvaluation cannot be completed until we receive the final report of the Industrial Training Research Unit which designed the courses. Nevertheless, the intention is to continue the courses at Ashwell and Ranby prisons. No decision can yet be taken about their extension to other establishments.
