§ Miss Margaret JacksonThe Government remain firmly committed to the principle of a public lending right for authors based on a sample of loans. We intend in due course to reintroduce our Bill to establish that right. In the meantime we have been examining the possibility of implementing a non-statutory scheme and hope to conclude our investigations shortly.
