Mr. Forman

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what proportion of total British direct investment overseas went to developing countries in each of the years since 1970; and what these proportions were worth in £ sterling at constant prices.

The available information relates to net direct private investment overseas at current prices by the United Kingdom, excluding oil, and is given below. These figures cannot be expressed in terms of constant prices because there are no suitable price deflators.
