Mr. Park

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the latest estimate of the effect on the British economy of the trends in world trading conditions; and if he will make a statement.

The Economic Summit which will be held in Bonn on 15th to 17th July will consider the outlook for world trade, and we shall press for the adoption of policies for strengthening its growth. The United Kingdom's prospects would obviously be improved by stronger growth in world trade.
