§ Mr. David Priceasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will consider extending the protection of the Rent Act to residents of mobile homes.
§ Mr. ArmstrongMost mobile home residents own their homes but occupy a pitch under licence from a site operator. In the mobile homes review we concluded the present Mobile Homes Act should be replaced, that the Rent Acts were not well suited to regulate this form of tenure and that therefore new legislation to protect mobile home residents was required. We are now working towards such legislation.
