§ Mr. Les HuckfieldThe Department of Industry has supported research and development in the field of desalination since 1965 by funding programmes at UKAEA establishments. The cost to the Department of such programmes in 1975–76, 1976–77 and 1977–78 was £51,000, £26,000 and £4,000 respectively. No programmes have been submitted for departmental funding in 1978–79.
