HC Deb 30 January 1978 vol 943 c66W
Mr. Cohen

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he will be in a position to announce the Government's decision on the report of the Planning Appeals Commission into the Poleglass area.

Mr. Carter

I have announced the Government's decision on the proposal for a development scheme and associated vesting of land to provide additional housing at Poleglass. The decision is that, subject to some minor modifications, the scheme should go ahead, and the necessary land is being vested. It will provide for some 2,000 houses with scope for industrial and community development. The full reports of the Planning Appeals Commission which conducted an inquiry into the proposals and a comprehensive Government statement have been issued today and are being made available in the Library.
