Friend announced on 30th January that we intend to continue broadly in the same form for the year from 1st April the temporary employment subsidy, the small firms employment subsidy, and the job release scheme, and he has today announced details of the Manpower Services Commission's new programmes for unemployed people, the youth opportunities programme and the special temporary employment programme, which come into operation on 1st April. He hopes shortly to make a further statement on the detailed basis upon which the temporary employment subsidy, small firms employment subsidy and the job release scheme will operate from 1st April.
