HC Deb 27 February 1978 vol 945 cc34-5W
Mr. Anthony Grant

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what conclusions she has reached from her study of the report made to her by the Gulbenkian Foundation on the training of musicians; and if she will make a statement;

(2) if she has yet written to the chairman of the inquiry sponsored by the Gulbenkian Foundation on the training of musicians; if so, whether she will publish her letter and any reply; and, if not, when she proposes to do so.

Mr. Oakes

Many of the report's recommendations have far-reaching implications for music education and they will require detailed consideration by those to whom they are addressed. My right hon. Friend wrote on 10th February to the chairman of the inquiry about matters which are her direct concern and her letter is reproduced below.
