HC Deb 27 February 1978 vol 945 c13W
Sir D. Walker-Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what consideration he has given to the effects on the viability and competiveness of small industrial undertakings of the price of gas required by them for the conduct of their operations; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Cryer

The price of gas is only one element in the cost structure of small companies. Gas is competitive with other fuels and I have no evidence to suggest that tariffs discriminate unfairly against the small industrial user.
