Mrs. Joyce Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if he will list the persons and organisations to whom he has sent for comment the proposed cosmetic products regulations he intends to make in implementation of the Council directive of the European Community; and if he will indicate the persons and organisations on that list who are qualified to give expert opinions on possible harmful effects of certain chemicals in cosmetics.

Some 270 interested bodies were consulted about the draft cosmetic regulations, including such bodies as the Medical Research Council and the Department of Cancer Research at Birmingham University. visers in the Department of Health and Social Security.
