Mr. Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection to what extent he estimates the 10 per cent, rise in industrial coal prices on 1st March and the similar increases in domestic prices on 1st November will increase the cost of living.
§ Mr. MaclennanIncreases in industrial and domestic coal prices in March and November are estimated eventually to add about ¼ per cent, to the retail price index. By itself, the November increase to domestic consumers will add 0.1 per cent, to the all-items index.
