§ Mr. Mackintoshasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if any sum has been allocated to the University Grants Committee from Government funds to help the construction industry; and what amount was allocated by the University Grants Committee to each university for this purpose.
§ Mr. Oakes£2 million was allocated to the University Grants Committee from this Department's share of the funds made available in the present financial40W year to assist employment in the construction industry. Further sums, totalling £4.5 million, were allocated to the UGC as part of the 1978–79 additional construction programme and the 1978–79 energy conservation measures.
