HC Deb 15 February 1978 vol 944 c252W
29. Mr. Carmichael

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is yet in a position to set up a public inquiry into the constructional deficiencies at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Yorkhill, Glasgow.

Mr. Harry Ewing

No. The Greater Glasgow Health Board will in due course be seeking to recover the costs of remedial works from those responsible for the defects at this hospital; and I am advised that a public inquiry held in advance of arbitration or litigation could prejudice the Board's chances of recovery.
