§ Mr. George Cunninghamasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if she will list the individual grants covered by the heading "Grants to Other Previously Non-profit Making Bodies" in respect of the education sector, in the National Income Blue Book.
§ Mr. OakesMy Department makes grants, subject to parliamentary approval, to several hundred educational establishments and organisations. All such recurrent grants are included in table 7.1 of the Central Statistical Office publication228W "National Income and Expenditure 1966–76" under the heading "Current Grants to Personal Sector". Grants to "universities, colleges etc." are shown separately. The educational grants included within "Other" grants are payments to direct grant schools, non-maintained special schools, voluntary colleges of education, voluntary youth organisations, voluntary bodies for education services and educational research projects commissioned by the Department.
