§ 3. Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will consider expediting the construction of the new district general hospital in Dunfermline; and, in particular, if he will include the first phase of the project in Band A of the National Health Service building programme.
§ Mr. Harry EwingPhase 1 of the West Fife District General Hospital was included in Band B of the Scottish Health Service major building programme on the basis of a realistic assessment of the time still required to complete the planning of this scheme. The Fife Health Board is pressing on with this as quickly as possible; and transferring the project to Band A at this juncture would of itself do nothing to expedite the construction of the hospital.
