§ Mr. Rookerasked the Secretary of State for Industry why information about the penetration of overseas markets is not available for industries covered by the sector working parties.
§ Mr. CryerAlthough the relevant data about exports from the United Kingdom is available, there is no comparable information about the total demand for particular categories of goods in overseas markets. The National Economic Development Council is working on an analysis which will provide some information but this is not yet available in the detail requested.
