§ Miss Fookesasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will amend the rules of the Forces Family Pension Scheme so as to enable a pension to be paid to the widow of an ex-Serviceman where the marriage took place after retirement; and if he will give reasons for his decision.
§ Mr. DuffyAs a requirement of contracting-out under the Social Security Pensions Act 1975, there will be provision in the Forces Family Pension Scheme, with effect from 6th April 1978, for a post-retirement widow's pension. As with all improvements in public sector pension schemes, this one cannot be applied retrospectively.
