Heavy Goods Vehicle Driving Tests

Mr. Tierney

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the reason for the increase in the heavy goods vehicle driving test appointments of 39.58 per cent.

Mr. Horam

The increase is proposed in order to recover fully the cost of providing these appointments in the financial year 1978–79. It reflects price rises over the three years since the present fee was calculated.
