HC Deb 02 February 1978 vol 943 c287W
Mr. Brotherton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will conduct an inquiry into allegations of falling safety standards being observed by North Sea divers.

Mr. John Grant

I am informed by the Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission that he is aware that such allegations have been made but that the inspectors responsible for enforcement of the relevant safety legislation have not observed any reduction in standards, and that the relevant accident statistics also do not support such allegations.
