HC Deb 02 February 1978 vol 943 c261W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has had from dental laboratories on the question of practising denturism; and if he will make a statement on his views on this subject.

Mr. Moyle

I have had no recent representations from dental laboratories, but one dental technician wrote to me advocating that dental technicians should be allowed to work directly to the public in the fitting and supply of dentures. This would be a very big change in the arrangements for the provision of dental treatment, and I am not aware of evidence that such a change would be beneficial to patients.
