§ Mr. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on representations made to the EEC Commission and the assistance given to the British Bath Manufacturers' Association in bringing in complaint under article 92 of the Treaty of Rome against Italian subsidisation of stainless steel baths; and when a reply is expected from the Commission.
§ Mr. Meacher:The Secretary of State wrote to the Commissioner responsible on two occasions, stressing his interest in and support for the BBMA's application. All possible help has been, and will continue to be given to the industry in this matter. We expect a reply from the Commission shortly.
