HC Deb 15 December 1978 vol 960 cc567-8W
Mr. Park

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what further action has been taken since March 1974 to combat dumping of goods by foreign countries in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Meacher:

Details of anti-dumping and countervailing investigations between January 1971 and March 1978 were given in my reply to the hon. Member for Blaydon (Mr. Woof) on 13th March.

77 of the United Kingdom investigations listed were carried out after March 1974 and covered 35 products. Since 1st July 1977, when responsibility for such investigations passed to the European Commission, cases have been announced involving 84 investigations into 27 products imported into the Community. There has been a United Kingdom interest in the great majority of these cases.
