HC Deb 15 December 1978 vol 960 c554W
Mr. Crawford

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what plans he has to ensure that the campaign to regenerate decaying rural areas is extended to Scotland;

(2) what plans his Department has for extending its campaign to regenerate decaying rural areas to Scotland.

Mr. Gregor MacKenzie:

In Scotland active steps to regenerate rural areas are already being taken not only by my Department and by local authorities but also by a number of public bodies such as SDA, HIDB, STB and Countryside Commission for Scotland. The Agency in particular is considering how best to develop its efforts more effectively into a strategy for rural areas.
