§ Mr. John Ellisasked the Secretary of State for Transport what payments have been made to the National Freight Corporation in accordance with section 18 of the Transport Act 1978.
§ Mr. William Rodgers:Section 18 of the Transport Act 1978 provides for grants to the National Freight Corporation towards any expenditure of a capital nature incurred by National Carriers Ltd. or any of its subsidiaries during the period 1st July 1978 to 31st December 1981. A payment of £4 million has been made towards expenditure incurred in the second half of 1978.
