Mrs. Hart:

The table below covers open structure and administration group staff in my Ministry from administration trainee upwards as at 1st October 1978:

for 1977–78 is now £144,000 instead of £121,000.

During the current financial year we are continuing to provide technical cooperation, mainly in the form of English language training in the United Kingdom for about 50 Vietnamese students, at an estimated cost of about £151,000.

We are continuing to provide food aid through the EEC, the World Food Programme and also through the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

We have made two offers of assistance from the aid/trade contingency provision.

Following recent serious floods in Vietnam emergency relief was provided at a cost of £25,000. £10,000 was in cash for the purchase of clothing in Vietnam and £15,000 for the supply of drugs from the United Kingdom.
