§ Mr. Formanasked the Secretary of State for Transport whether, following his press release on the peril of pavement whizz-kids, he will list in the Official Report the local authorities which have opened up cycle ways and cycle routes since 1st January 1976, and, separately, those which now have plans to do so.
§ Mr. Horam:Local authorities do not need to notify my right hon. Friend when 673W providing cycle ways or cycle routes, so that complete information on what has been done or is planned is not available. We have just issued a local transport note to local authorities advising them on ways to help cyclists. We have also offered financial assistance to those authorities who wish to promote innovative cycle schemes in their areas.
