Mr. David Mitchell

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much revenue has been raised by each capital tax since 1974; how many Inland Revenue staff are employed to collect each capital tax; and what is the cost of collecting each such tax per annum.

The figures are as follows:

  1. 1. Financial Information Systems in Government.
  2. 2. A study on the remuneration of staff in the International Monetary Fund and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development commissioned by the Governments of France, West Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.
  3. 3. Preparatory research into property valuation in the context of fire insurance legislation. Total cost to the Treasury was:

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the subjects on which professional consultants' reports were commissioned by his Department, and the total cost to the Department of such reports, in each of the years 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978.
