Mr. Ron Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Trade when he expects the negotiations for British Airways to purchase BAC 1–11 aircraft, which were announced by his predecessor on 10th July, to be concluded.

Mr. John Smith:

I now understand that British Airways has reached agreement with British Aerospace for the purchase of three BAC 1–11 aircraft.
