§ Mr. Maddenasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied with the number and geographical distribution of dentists now available within the National Health Service; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Moyle:The number of dentists providing general dental services within the National Health Service is still increasing and their geographical distribution is improving. I look for further improvements with the increase in the output of dentists from dental schools.
An alternative method of remuneration, calculated to attract more dentists to less well-served areas, is currently being evaluated experimentally.
