HL Deb 12 December 1978 vol 397 c538WA
Lord BARNBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, as a contribution to improving the environment, they will now announce their plans for the removal of the obsolete building, formerly a post office, which still obstructs the view of Bradford Cathedral.

Lord LEONARD

I assume the question is concerned with the Post Office building in Forster Square, Bradford. This is a listed building and any proposal for its demolition would have to be referred to the Secretary of State for the Environment. The building is owned by the Post Office and is currently used as a delivery office and for administration accommodation. I understand that the Post Office intends to vacate the building when it has completed arrangements for the building of a new head office in Bradford.
