§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with other EEC Governments about proposals for a Middle East settlement, and, in particular, recent proposals for further Israeli settlements of 2,700 Israeli families in the occupied territories of the West Bank and Gaza.
§ Mr. Judd:In view of their importance, proposals for a Middle East settlement are naturally among the subjects which my right hon. Friend discusses regularly 86W with his European colleagues. These discussions cover all aspects of the problem. The Government have consistently voted for United Nations resolutions which deplore Israel's policy of establishing settlements in the occupied territories.
