Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will name those persons convicted of murder or culpable homicide, and now in prison, who could be due to be considered for parole during the next 12 months.

Mr. Harry Ewing:

No. It is the practice not to name names publicly because of the damage this might do to the prospects of the prisoner's successful resettlement in the community.
