§ Mrs. Bainasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will hold consultations with the Scottish universities with a view to gaining greater acceptance of the certificate of sixth year studies as an entrance qualification.
§ Mr. McElhone:My Department has regular meetings with the Scottish Universities Council on Entrance on matters of common interest, which include the certificate of sixth year studies— CSYS.
University entrance qualifications are the responsibility of the universities themselves.
