§ Mr. Wigleyasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will state the number of persons who were employed in Wales in October 1978 on (a) job creation, (b) special temporary employment, (c) youth opportunities and (d) the community industry programme.
§ Mr. John Morris:'The figures are:
Job Creation Programme 2,775 Special Temporary Employment Programme. 111 Community Industry 523 Youth Opportunities Programme 3,846 The figures for the youth opportunities programme are based on returns recording claims for payment only and therefore underestimate the numbers currently engaged on the programme. A more accurate figure is that available from specific counts made by the careers service and these will now form the basis for future returns. The November careers service returns show the number currently engaged on the programme to be 6,472.
